I got kicked from gamesurge for excess flood while using the bash mod. I thought the bash mod was supposed to limit the amount it posted to prevent flooding and the bot itself was to queue up everything it was going to post to also prevent the flooding.

With these two things working to prevent flooding, my guess would be that it would never flood. could someone, prferrably the author of the mod, check this out and let me know what you think it may be.

Thank you

Your network is too sensitive. You need to look at the queuebuffer and queuetimeout settings in bot.conf.

This is what I have, the defaults: What is 1? it says it's in fractions of seconds, but i don't understand how much time that is. Also, is higher more senstive or lower? Or maybe higher for timeout and lower for buffer would be less sensitive? But how much higher or lower?

;====Send queue timeout
;How often to send more text to the irc server. This handles the 'notice'
;and 'privMsg' commands sent from modules and such (in fractions of seconds)
queuetimeout 1

;====Send queue buffer
;How many bytes of text to send to the server every 'queuetimeout' period.
queuebuffer 225

Just lower queuebuffer from 225 to something like 5. queuetimeout is in seconds.. I'm not sure why it says fractions of a section there.

Basically, the bot will try to send only 'queuebuffer' bytes within the time period 'queuetimeout', and no more. It's for flood control.

thank you, that helps.

and now that you explained it, i think fractions means units.
